Horace Grant

Horace completed undergraduate and graduate studies in History at Yale and Columbia Universities. He currently works as a consultant with the Sterling Suns Group, a two person firm serving small businesses and non-profits. Prior to this, he worked at McKinsey & Co. as an associate focused on strategy and operations. He hails from Jamaica and currently lives in the South Bronx where, for a number of years, he served as an overnight volunteer with the Missionaries of Charity's homeless shelter for men.

Jed JohnHope

Jed began developing Mercy Cards as a second-year MBA student at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. After a visit to a Chicago-area grocery store that had several homeless people outside, Jed began to contemplate the homeless population’s diminishing access to cash. Convinced that he could help, Jed proceeded to dedicate his career to this problem that is well worth solving.

Prior to starting Mercy Cards, Jed enjoyed a successful career as a chemical engineer and investment banker, working for several multinational corporations, including Morgan Stanley, ARCADIS, Liberty Mutual, and the Hess Corporation. Originally from St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Jed is the youngest of his mother’s four children and currently resides in Evanston, IL. In his spare time Jed spends time working out, traveling and enjoying life with family and friends.

Andre Newman

Andre, a State University of Binghamton alumnus, began working with the early stages of Mercy Cards as a second-year MBA student at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Armed with a desire to help those not as fortunate as the general population, André observed the burgeoning need to become part of the early stages of Mercy Cards. By dedicating his time, passion and effort, André demonstrates his commitment to Mercy cards through the creation of marketing, operational and growth initiatives.

Prior to facilitating with the proliferation of Mercy Cards, André spent six years as a financial services consultant at Ernst & Young where he assisted major banks, hedge funds and insurance companies with a multitude of issues. Born and raised in New York, André currently resides in the Chicago, IL area, spends his leisure time mentoring inner city youth via various programs, and enjoys weightlifting and outdoor activities.
